Two Tribes Takes Flight with Virgin Atlantic > New Brand Partnership
Beer lovers and sun seekers rejoice, we were pleased to have recently announced our partnership with Virgin Atlantic, featuring an exclusive new beer and in-flight tasting experiences created specifically for the iconic airline.
To launch our partnership and celebrate Virgin Atlantic’s new route from London to Tampa, we brewed them a bespoke beer, ‘METROLAND > FLORIDA’. This specially brewed Session IPA will be available alongside best-seller ‘Metroland’ and ‘Metroland NYC’, forming part of a series of exclusive tasting experiences available on all A350 aircraft. The A350 flies from the UK to destinations including JFK, Atlanta, LAX, Lagos, Johannesburg, Delhi and Orlando.
For a limited time, Upper Class passengers will have access to a bespoke Two Tribes experience onboard, designed to give them a taste of their destination before touching down. Guests will be able to reserve time in a private booth or exclusive loft space, where they’ll be treated to a Two Tribes beer tasting experience, accompanied by the soundtrack of Two Tribes Radio.
Metroland is the beer for urban explorers, so to ensure the Two Tribes experience continues even after guests disembark, we have designed bespoke maps of the Metroland destinations, curated to be the essential guides to the flavour and culture of most exciting cities around the world.
As bright and vibrant as the sunshine state, Metroland Florida is the newest Session IPA from Two Tribes. At 4.2% ABV, it’s been brewed with specially selected hops and ingredients to complement the sunshine state, with notes of tropical passionfruit, peach and soft citrus. Metroland Florida is the next destination for the Two Tribes World Tour Series, which features Metroland Rio, Metroland Tokyo, Metroland Colombo, Metroland NYC and the original Metroland, inspired by Two Tribes’ home city of London.
The partnership between the two brands is a natural one, with both Two Tribes and Virgin Atlantic’s roots entrenched in music. Two Tribes was born out of collaboration between beer and music, when Two Tribes Chief Justin Deighton was asked to make a beer for Island Records. Similarly, with a parent brand that has owned record stores and music labels, Virgin Atlantic has always been unconventional, and set out to give an alternative to the unimaginative services that the traditional airlines offered.
Justin Deighton, Two Tribes Chief, commented: “There is so much synergy between Two Tribes and Virgin with our shared histories and heritage in music, so this partnership is the perfect fit for us.
Virgin Atlantic’s continued ethos of championing innovation with products and services has allowed us to make the most of the opportunity of pouring on their flights and taking our Two Tribes beers global, and we can’t wait for our jet-setting fans to get a taste of Metroland Florida.”
Shiada Drysdale, Manager (Beverage Development) at Virgin Atlantic, commented: “The introduction of destination inspired Two Tribes Beer into The Booth and The Loft demonstrates our endeavor to curate brilliantly different experiences for our customers.
Our partnership with Two Tribes beer will elevate the experience within the social spaces on our aircraft as the styles of beer and the flavour profiles reflect the routes within our network; Florida, New York and London.”
Metroland Florida is the first step in a wider partnership between Two Tribes and Virgin Atlantic, and fans can expect more exciting announcements in the coming months.
